The Art and Environment Ministry creates and provides an inspirational and prayerful worship environment that encourages a closer relationship with God. This is done by creating appropriate surroundings in keeping with the liturgical season and rich in symbolic representation. Special attention is given to achieving this environment during Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.
This committee is attentive to the entire liturgical environment for the worship celebrations in the Church. The environment serves the liturgy, and the art seeks to foster an awareness of the sacred within the community
As with all elements of liturgy, the art and environment should "participate". It should celebrate the same way as the music celebrates. It should enjoy and encourage the community to a prayerful practice of community in worship.
