Bereavement Ministry
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish has established an organized response to the needs of the members of this parish who are grieving
the death of a loved one.
No member of our faith community should grieve alone. Those grieving need to feel God’s love in time of crisis and pain. As a caring community, we heed Jesus’ call to bring His love to those who are suffering.
The Arimatheans, a group of caring parishioners, support their brothers and sisters in Christ who have experienced the loss of a loved one by attending funerals as representatives of our parish.
As a faith community, rooted in Scripture, we take our cue from our Lord when he described that we would be held accountable for our response to His plea to welcome a stranger, and comfort the mourning. “I assure you, as
often as you did it for the least of my brothers, you did it for me.” Matthew 25:40
Volunteers are welcome to serve in this group.
