RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
RCIA is designed to welcome new members into the Church and at the same time to lead all Catholic parishioners to a deeper belief and renewal of their Christian faith.
The RCIA process runs year round. The invitation is extended to join the process whenever you feel called to do so. After a brief interview and conversation, the extent of the journey is discussed. Depending on the sacraments to be celebrated, background and needs of the individual, a flexible and tentative time line is sketched out. The process/journey can take anywhere from a few weeks to a year or more with many personal variables determining the length.
RCIA is for:
- People of other traditions, or those unbaptized, interested in learning more about the Roman Catholic faith and tradition
- People of other traditions wishing to become Roman Catholic
- Fully initiated, practicing Catholics wishing to grow in their faith and share that faith by sponsoring a catechumen or candidate.
- Baptized Catholics wishing to prepare for Confirmation and/or Eucharist and/or Reconciliation.

Catechumens celebrate Baptism, Confirmation & Eucharist.
Catechumens are baptized with water in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, given a white garment (prayer shawl) and receive the light of Christ.
Candidates celebrate Confirmation and Eucharist
